Coffee Talk Tuesday #113

It’s Tuesday! Let’s grab a cup of something warm and have a chat.

I have lots of things on my mind this week! With the end of 2018 just days away, I’m of course thinking about 2019 and all it will bring. I like goals, and love creating a daily priority list, as well as a monthly list of things to accomplish. With that in mind, I’ve decided that PRIORITY will be the word of 2019. Instead of talking about goals and having “enough time” to do something, I’m going to remember the word priority. I’m also going to use it as a way to really structure my time even more, by asking “is this a priority” and if not, it doesn’t go on my list. I’m continuing to work on saying NO to things I really don’t want to do. I’ve gotten better at it in 2018! I also want to establish a short list of priorities for the year, and break them down by month.

Some featured priorities for 2019:

  • 200 hour yoga certification – it’s time! I’m ready for this next step. It’s also a way to re-focus my personal wellness track.
  • an additional fitness certification – tbd, I have two ideas
  • New FWA website & features (cooking up some amazing ideas here! Also working to put MY work first this year.)
  • finish the back room – we’re increasing our living space by 30% with this addition
  • Trips – at least one national park trip, something awesome for husband’s 30th birthday, something for our wedding anniversary, and something for the holidays.
  • Save $5,000 – this is in addition to the funding needed for finishing the back room. I like having reserves, but I also have “buy the shoes” mentality, especially when it comes to experiences/living. It’s a battle I deal with all the time.

I might add to this list as the year progresses, but I’m liking the look and feel of it for now. Are you planning a list of priorities in 2019?

Related, if we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’ve been thinking a lot about fitness and wellness. My ultimate goal is to pursue those areas solely (husband and I joke that I could probably never have just one job, but if I did, it would be focused on health & wellness), so I’ll be looking for ways to continue on that path. I’ll celebrate TEN years of teaching next year, so it’s a good chance to think about my next steps.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d also pose two questions to you:

  1. What got you started on your personal wellness/fitness/health journey
  2. What keeps you motivated to continue?

I think about these things all the time, especially as I get new clients each month. I love to understand what motivates people to come to class for the first time, because it’s a big step and takes a lot of courage. I also want to know what keeps people coming back for more. I have some clients that have been moving with me since my first year of teaching! You guys inspire me to keep learning and growing, so I can create a good environment for you.

One way I like to stay motivated is through challenges. Something ignites within me when I’m following a challenge. I tend to reveal a little more than usual in my posts.

I’m doing a few right now, even hosting one! Feel free to follow all of them:

  • 25 Days of Buti – Hosted by Buti Yoga, I’m participating @ctownyogi on insta #25DaysofButi
  • HOSTING – 12 Days of Flexmas – free facebook group (also posting on insta @fitwithaundra) #12DaysofFlexmas
  • December Photo Challenge – I love this throwback photo challenge!!! Participating on insta @fitwithaundra #DecemberPhotoChallenge18

I can’t wait to hear your answers about what motivated you to start your wellness journey, and what keeps you going!
