It’s Tuesday! Grab your cup and let’s start chattin’.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that we’re on Day 2 of the Commit to Fit challenge. What is it? We’re falling into fitness and making a commitment to show up for ourselves with challenging, but doable, workouts. I have devised a plan that includes a variety of workout styles: HIIT, barre, strength and stretch, power stretch & flow. The workouts are spaced in a way that allows for active recovery, which is crucial for anyone attempting the daily workout format. It’s not too late to join! We have some challengers joining virtually, some doing a mix, and some coming to the live classes. The level of commitment is up to you! Message me for details.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that husband and I are planning a fun fall getaway to celebrate our 4-year wedding anniversary. Fun fact–did you know that our dating, engagement, and wedding anniversary falls on the same date (Oct. 31)? This time of year is extra special for The Andersons!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I played a “Day in the Life” game on insta stories yesterday. I documented everything I did in the day – from waking up, to my daily mediation (homework from my YTT course), to workouts, teaching classes, work flow, and more. I got some fun and interesting feedback from this game, so I thought I’d share today a few (maybe lesser-known?!) fun facts.

5 Fun Facts About Me

1. I work three jobs. Most people know me from one job, some know me from two of them. I like project-based or task-based work the best — measurable progress. I don’t share much about one of my side jobs – designing and creating communication pieces/strategies for businesses. I’ve worked with a variety of clients, but am working extensively for one at the moment. My dream job would be a fusion of teaching group fitness, training fitness instructors, running a healthy living podcast, and maybe running a gym/helping people create healthier lifestyles. I can’t even choose just one dream job. I like having multiple projects moving, it keeps my creative juices flowing!

2. I don’t drink coffee first thing in the morning. That really got to a lot of people when I posted it on insta stories! I make coffee first thing, because I make it for both husband & I and he leaves early to head to work. I don’t drink my first cup of coffee until I’ve been awake at least 2 hours. For me, coffee is an experience, something I like to spend time enjoying. I’ve also found that the caffeine benefits are more intense when I wait to drink after I’ve been awake for awhile. I start the day with a glass of water.

3. I’m obsessed with true crime. I love reading about it, watching movies/shows related to it, and most recently, listening to podcasts about it. This REALLY trips people up — I think I give off vibes of being upbeat, happy, high energy, and not really dark or mysterious. I simply love stories. I love good stories, I love solving problems, and I love stories that require you to think. I’m really intrigued by the mind, and I like learning about behavior. I meet a lot of people between all of my jobs, and I’ve accidentally made a professional career of interviewing people. I like getting to know what makes people tick, their interests, and their motivations.

4. I have no technical dance training. This actually makes me a little self-conscious as a fitness trainer who offers dance exercise. I have a natural talent for dance and musicality, but I’ve never received/sought training for it. I’m looking forward to trying a few technical dance classes in the near future – I have a couple of workshops on my schedule. I love to learn and I love to grow. I always walk away from fitness workshops with a bunch of ideas and things to share with my clients. Stay tuned!

5. My main professional job is part-time. I spend a lot of time in the schools (I don’t actually work for the public school system, but they are gracious and offered me a space/office in the building to do my work), and I work about 28 hours a week for this job with MBRT. There’s a LOT that goes into those 28 hours, and I end up doing the same work as a full-time coordinator, but I think moving to full-time was more of a mind thing for me — I don’t ever want to settle on a job, and being part-time gives me flexibility to try other things. I’m fortunate to be in a situation to do this with my work!

It was so fun to play the Day in the Life game – I got a chance to be super-focused on my daily tasks, and it was neat sharing it with you!
