It’s Tuesday! Grab your cup and let’s start chattin’.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d share an update! Toward the beginning of the summer, I created this Summer To Do List, focusing on some tangible goals and also some ongoing ideas. Some progress:

  1. Finish ACE Personal Training studying & take test
  2. Get outside every day
  3. Take a trip to a National Park Congaree National Park 7/3/20
  4. Drink all the iced coffee
  5. Put final touches on new house and share a tour
  6. Infinite hammock time
  7. Take Cora to a different park or the beach once a week
  8. Go on picnics with husband
  9. Create a plan for immediate future fitness classes/locations
  10. Teach outdoor classes in 3 new places
  11. Schedule 3 new private class clients/sessions
  12. Host a backyard BBQ
  13. Pick & eat all the fruit
  14. Work on National Parks album with husband
  15. Finish new fitness services website

Many of these items are on-going, but some- like the new services website and the immediate plan for classes have concrete end dates. I can’t believe summer is almost over, so I’m spending days cherishing the warmth and sunlight and playing outside every single day. I love seasons, but I’m not ready to part with this one yet.

Speaking of seasons, if we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m in a season of sharing, learning, and growing! I was looking back at older posts, and realized that I’m SUPER close to week/post #200. How cool is that? I also stumbled upon my first post of 2020, which declared “LAUNCH” as my word of the year. January seems like eons ago, but how fitting that I declared Launch as my word.

Since January, I’ve launched: a successful start to teaching yoga, the start of studying for my personal training exam, so many virtual groups and series, weekly virtual classes, an entire outdoor events and classes series, and I can’t even imagine what is next. I have a few ideas swirling in my head and I can say with confidence that I didn’t expect to be here now. So any new growth, new ideas, new concepts–everything is fair game. Be ready for MORE to launch soon!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that, even in spite of weird technology issues this morning, we had another live chat on fb! Here’s the full video:

During the live coffee chat, I shared some fun practices I’m currently doing to keep motivated and to feel empowered each day. I’m sharing them with you!

5 ways to Empower your Week

1. Let go. Allow a moment of wtf and then move on. You’re allowed to be upset or frustrated or confused. GIVE YOURSELF THAT ISH and then take a deep breath and move to the next moment. Today’s mantra “I am in control of my mindset.”
2. Move your body. Every single day. Make it a habit – even just 10 min a day. This doesn’t have to be complicated. Just get up and do it.
3. Run your race. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Worry about you. Comparison is the worst. But here’s the thing – no one else is YOU. Even if they do the same things, plan the same events, do their hair the same way – they can imitate you but they can’t duplicate you. Be you and keep in your lane and watch your goals and life flourish.
4. Choose healthy next. Sit too long? Eat something that you regret? Make your very next decision a better one. Drink a glass of water. Take a short walk. Eat a vegetable. You don’t have to fall down a spiral!

5. Chunk it. Goals can seem big, overwhelming. Instead of thinking about steps 1-26, focus on the present day. Create sizable, focused daily chunks of effort to meet your goal. You are more likely to achieve your goal in the long run. I gave an example in the video!

What else do YOU do to empower your day?
