If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I can’t believe we’ll be in AUGUST already. Like, what? How did this happen? Usually, I’d be spending time getting ready for the new school year, purchasing items to decorate my office (I love doing a new theme each year), browsing the back to school aisles at all of my favorite stores, buying another new set of fine-tip colorful markers. It’s different this year. My local district just announced virtual learning for the first semester. I get it, and think it was the best call to make at this time, but it certainly makes for an interesting back-to-school season. I’m working hard with my team to determine our next best course of action to promote our programming and help our first group of seniors connect with their futures! It will be challenging, but with challenge comes opportunity, and you know I’m all about that.

Speaking of opportunities, if we were having coffee together today, I’d have to pause and reflect. I’ve always thrived with a full schedule and I’ve been packing in the fitness sessions. I put a lot of pressure on myself to offer top quality, variety, and a fun experience.  Sometimes, I spend so much time looking ahead and planning, that I forget to take a second and appreciate all of the amazing things I’ve done so far. I’m taking a moment this week to stop and think about all of the amazing opportunities I’ve created–and been offered–this summer.

  1. Virtual Fitness Sessions – I have three contracted virtual fitness session classes – totaling 58 sessions overall. I got contracts to work with a private group in Kent County, an international group, and a youth group. I love having these consistent sessions with people and look forward to them each week!
  2. Virtual Group Sessions – We started this quarantine STRONG with almost a zoom session a day, and we’ve been going strong with Saturday Zumba on zoom for nearly 20 weeks.
  3. Park Group Fitness Sessions – I kept saying ‘when it gets hot we will stop’ and here we are, hottest point of the summer, and we’re still doing it. I appreciate you SO MUCH for showing up.
  4. Private Yoga Sessions – I’m beyond thrilled to offer these. There’s an opportunity to improve your practice. We can work on whatever you’d like – I’ve done everything from balance work to learning the splits, to building flexibility, to just coming to a space to be present for 30 minutes. I have some spots open for more of these sessions and would be honored to share this space with you.
  5. Virtual Groups – I am BLOWN AWAY by the overwhelming response to these groups. I love creating curriculum for fitness sessions and I enjoy evolving the groups with you. This spring and summer, I’ve hosted 8 different group sessions, from yoga and barre to high intensity, to a totally new strength session. I’ve loved seeing everyone join these, and can’t believe how many people are joining – I love you all to pieces! Next group is Summer Strong 2.0 and it launches August 10. Register.
  6. Fitness Events – I set a goal to host classes in three new locations and this week I hit it! My goal with these classes is to offer a fun experience. I’ve always been a proponent of fitness needing to be fun and spicing up our locations has been so much fun. Thank you for joining me for classes at 7+ different locations. I love spotlighting local farms and places and taking our fitness to the next level at these venues!

With all of this, I’m starting to think about the fall (I know, always looking forward). I want to be conscious of changing schedules with the announcement of virtual learning, I want to protect my time so I can continue to offer high quality classes (and spend time learning), and I want to BE there for you. I’ve put together this survey – if you take classes with me, or if you are considering taking classes with me, please spend a moment to let me know what you love, what you want, etc. I appreciate you!

With all of this, know that YOU are enough. I have to repeat this to myself often and I know it’s something we all need to hear and know. You are YOU and that is enough. I’m always chasing the next thing, but know that I have so much to be thankful for and so many amazing things I’ve done and am currently doing. We are right where we need to be.
