Coffee Talk Wednesday #18

Since I posted a ‘Transformation Tuesday‘ of sorts, I thought I’d share a coffee update today. Welcome to the weekly chat where I spill my guts and try not to spill my coffee. That would be very sad.

Today’s coffee is hazelnut with Silk almond vanilla creamer.

Oh, I have missed my sweet Chestertown! I’ve spent the past 10 days on the road (admissions road warrior style) and I’m glad to be back for a quick breather before heading back on the road to visit Houston and Memphis.

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that this ‘travel breather’ week is proving to be difficult. We have our big fundraising event for Colchester on Saturday (Oktoberfest, here’s the link for you locals) and a fundraising event for Johnny’s church on Sunday (Harvest Home, here’s the link for you locals). I’m taking a ‘day off’ Friday to prep for Oktoberfest (making apple dumplings, setting up at the farm, and setting up the sales ticket table in front of Chester River Wine & Cheese). Monday is a super busy day for visitors, since many high schools are closed for Columbus Day. AND THEN, I leave for another trip early Tuesday morning – Houston to Memphis. Add some fitness classes in there, and man it’s a long week.

If we were having coffee today, I’d share with you a link to an article that really spoke to me this week – This is 30. I’m certain this was written about me!

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that I traveled 1,100 miles last week by car. Colorado is a big state, y’all! But, I forgive it for the amazing views.  Now, to convince Johnny that he wants to live in the mountains… He will actually be in Denver for a conference soon, so here’s hoping he falls madly in love with the mile-high city!

If we were having coffee today, I would share that I made a big decision earlier this year about my professional time, and it’s paying off well. I wasn’t sure, because it included giving up a leadership role, but my time has been spent more deeply on fewer items, and that has served me well. It’s also helped me make a similar decision, which I haven’t shared yet with the organization, but I will soon! 2017 is going to be all about pushing forward with fitness, so other commitments will be cut. I’m liking this new outlook!

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you that I’m pretty sure I’m going to grab an iced coffee after work. Yep, it’s a double coffee kinda day. I mostly just love the experience of drinking coffee. You, too?

Drain that cup, and I’ll see you next week (Live from Houston!).
